Dentro de este campo, una de las m\u00e1s atractivas ser\u00eda poder reponer las neuronas que se pueden destruir en diversas enfermedades o tras el ictus.<\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1203\" src=\"http:\/\/iguala3.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Celula-300x201.jpg\" alt=\"C\u00e9lula\" width=\"300\" height=\"201\" srcset=\"https:\/\/iguala3.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Celula-300x201.jpg 300w, https:\/\/iguala3.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Celula-600x402.jpg 600w, https:\/\/iguala3.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Celula.jpg 620w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Ahora se abre una nueva posibilidad, el reponer las neuronas lesionadas en el propio cerebro. En efecto, un equipo de la Universidad de M\u00fanich ha presentado, en la reuni\u00f3n anual de la Sociedad de Neurociencias, celebrada a mediados del pasado mes de noviembre de 2018, experimentos realizados en ratones en los que, al parecer, se pueden transferir astrocitos, unas c\u00e9lulas cerebrales, que por otro lado son los m\u00e1s abundantes en el cerebro, en c\u00e9lulas con actividad neuronal\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencemag.org\/news\/2018\/11\/reprogrammed-cells-could-tackle-brain-damage\">(ver m\u00e1s AQU\u00cd).<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0Al presentar evidencias de que astrocitos reprogramados adquieren propiedades neuronales, otros dos grupos tambi\u00e9n han presentado resultados parecidos, incluso en uno de ellos consiguieron que ratones que han sufrido un ictus experimental puedan recuperar movimientos de sus extremidades. Algunos expertos ven en estas experiencias una potencial alternativa al trasplante de c\u00e9lulas troncales o de neuronas derivadas de c\u00e9lulas troncales en el cerebro o en la m\u00e9dula espinal da\u00f1ada. Diversos ensayos cl\u00ednicos, utilizando esta estrategia, est\u00e1n en marcha para tratar el Parkinson o incluso lesiones de la m\u00e9dula espinal. En opini\u00f3n de Gong Chen, un experto neurocient\u00edfico de la Universidad estatal de Pensilvania, el reciente descubrimiento de que c\u00e9lulas maduras puedan dirigirse a desarrollar otros tipos celulares, puede constituir una buena opci\u00f3n para tratar este tipo de problema, afirmando incluso que \u201cyo no puedo imaginar otra tecnolog\u00eda m\u00e1s eficiente que usar las <a href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/C%C3%A9lula_glial\">c\u00e9lulas de gl\u00eda<\/a> vecinas a las neuronas\u201d para reparar el cerebro. Esta posibilidad se est\u00e1 tambi\u00e9n experimentando en varios otros laboratorios utilizando diversos factores de transcripci\u00f3n, como el de la Timothy Murphy.<\/p>\n<p>Un neurocient\u00edfico de la Universidad de la Columbia Brit\u00e1nica en Vancouver, ha demostrado que los circuitos cerebrales pueden mejorar utilizando estas t\u00e9cnicas despu\u00e9s de un ictus. El doctor Cheng, anteriormente citado, ha fundado una empresa para desarrollar terapias basadas en la reprogramaci\u00f3n de astrocitos. Cheng afirma: \u201cyo creo que esto es el futuro\u201d, \u201ces la frontera inmediata en la medicina regenerativa\u201d.
