Pero, por fin, tenemos una buena noticia en este campo, porque un equipo del\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnio.es\/es\/index.asp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNIO, el Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Oncol\u00f3gicas<\/a>,\u00a0<strong>ha logrado, por primera vez, frenar el crecimiento de este agresivo tumor cerebral en ratones<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u00bfY c\u00f3mo lo han logrado? Pues,\u00a0<strong>bloqueando una prote\u00edna, la TRF1<\/strong>, que es esencial para que este tumor cancer\u00edgeno se puede regenerar.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLo primero que vimos es que TRF1 est\u00e1 sobreexpresado tanto en glioblastoma de rat\u00f3n como en muestras humanas, lo cual nos indicaba que bloque\u00e1ndolo tal vez podr\u00edamos conseguir alg\u00fan resultado\u201d, se\u00f1ala Leire Bejarano, miembro de este equipo del CNIO. Y bloquearon esta prote\u00edna y consiguieron\u00a0<strong>aumentar la supervivencia de los ratones hasta en un 80%<\/strong>\u00a0si actuaban al inicio de la formaci\u00f3n del tumor. Tras este \u00e9xito en ratones, pasaron a trabajar\u00a0<strong>con c\u00e9lulas de tumores humanos implantadas en el cerebro de roedores<\/strong>\u00a0y este tratamiento tambi\u00e9n funcion\u00f3<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s,\u00a0<strong>sin efectos secundarios<\/strong>, ya que su administraci\u00f3n no afect\u00f3 a las capacidades olfativas, neuromusculares o a la memoria de los ratones. \u201cLa inhibici\u00f3n de TRF1 es una estrategia efectiva para el tratamiento del glioblastoma\u201d, destaca y Mar\u00eda Blasco, la directora del CNIO y que tambi\u00e9n ha participado en este trabajo pionero.<\/p>\n<p>El\u00a0<strong>siguiente paso<\/strong>, en el que ya est\u00e1n investigando, es comprobar la eficacia de los inhibidores de TRF1 desarrollados en el CNIO en combinaci\u00f3n con otros f\u00e1rmacos que ya se utilizan en los hospitales contra el c\u00e1ncer.<\/p>\n<p>El avance es muy prometedor, pero a\u00fan se necesitar\u00e1n algunos a\u00f1os m\u00e1s y una mayor inversi\u00f3n econ\u00f3mica para poder probarse en humanos y, si funciona y es seguro, al final los nuevos f\u00e1rmacos acaben llegando\u00a0 los
